Olympic 1500 meter gold medalist, Rashid Ramzi, was busted for use of the drug CERA. This guy was the first gold medalist Bahrain's track team ever had. No wonder. It's a shame that Ramzi felt that he had to go this route to get his country a medal. The pride and the glory that shone through as he crossed the finish line and kissed the track are now completely erased. It is a huge disappointment as a fan of the sport to watch someone win a gold medal and be happy for them because of their dedication; then to see it wasn't hard work at all, but cheating.
If the ruling stands and Ramzi is stripped of his gold, Asbel Kiprop of Kenya will be awarded the medal, while New Zealand's Nick Willis will move up to silver. That is great for Kiprop but as Olympian Dee Dee Trotter said, "that's one of the worst things about it, is that they'll send it to him in the mail. You want your time to shine. You cant get that back. You never take that victory lap, never enjoy that moment the way it was designed for the winner to enjoy it" (http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/news/story?id=4109903).
